OK, time for another Movie analogy to my current life. In this movie, Adele (Susan Sarandon) plays the Mom, and Ann (Natalie Portman) plays her daughter. Adele is bored with life in small town Wisconsin, so she and Ann take off on a road trip to Beverly Hills, leaving the step Father behind. Adele gets a job as a teacher in an LA school, and then a speech therapist in a retirement community, while Ann grows to a be confident young woman. Lots of complications involved, but in the end, Adele sells her Mercedes to help send her daughter Ann to Brown University in Rhode Island. They had both changed immensely. And those of you who know me can see all the similarities in this movie to my life.
I remember one time when I went back to Wisconsin to visit my parents, and we went out to eat at a local restaurant. After I ordered the waitress said to me, "Honey, you're not from around here are you?." Then of course my Dad said proudly, "No, my son's an Architect in San Francisco." One of life's finer moments.
Of course now I'm a Realtor/ Broker/ Owner living my dream in San Francisco 24 years later.
In addition to San Francisco, Chicago and Milwaukee, I've lived in another 10 small towns while growing up. Never anywhere longer than 7 years (Chicago and Milwaukee) and no longer than 4 years (all the others).
Now I've been in San Francisco for 24 years, and I can promise you I will never live anywhere else! The ad campaign back in 1987 was "The Best Place on Earth!" I know all the neighborhoods like the back of my hand, and many of them have changed a great deal in all those years.
So if you need a Realtor who can help you find your Dream, just ask me. I've been there. Done that. I'm happy where I am. You can find your dream too!!
