My Life as a San Francisco Realtor: June 2011

Did you ever tell a Lie?

Did you ever tell a lie so big it could change your whole life? That's the lesson Novalee Nation (Natalie Portman) learned in the movie "Where the heart Is". Tonight I was looking for something to amuse me on Netflix, and I came across this movie. The tag line said "15-year-old Tennessee transient who has to grow up in a hurry when she's left pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend on a roadside in Sequoyah, Okla., and takes refuge in the friendly aisles of Wal-Mart." It struck my fancy, so I clicked on it.

Natalie, Portman, Ashley Judd, Stockard Channing, James Frain, Joan Cusak, Sally Field. Sally Field!? Her role was more of a cameo appearance, but she made a fabulous blond trailer trash Mom. I kept thinking "Is that really her?" Sure enough!

After many trials and tribulations, including a tornado, Novalee finally understands it in the end, and tells the truth. And it makes for a great happy ending Wedding inside a Walmart Store.

So from here I'll segway into the real estate angle. I'm not talking about lies so much as decisions. Choosing the right home is a HUGE decision! Experts say that the average homeowner stays in their home seven years. But for many that move is for a lifetime! It's NOT like buying a car.... This is HUGE! The most important investment many people make in a lifetime. In times like this, you need a Realtor you can trust. A professional who knows the market in your city, and the neighborhoods as well. So trust your Realtor and give him or her the respect they deserve. Your next move WILL change your life, I guarantee you!
