October is Jumpin' in San Francisco - Local Events
There are some greats local events coming up soon. You already missed the Folsom Street Fair - that was last Sunday.
This coming weekend is the Castro Street Fair. Fun for all, and not quite as 'on the edge' as the Folsom Street Fair.
On the lighter side, there's the Inner Sunset Street Fair. It celebrates the Inner Sunset Community with lots of entertainment for children, food by local restaurants, unique arts and crafts, live music, games and special events, free dance and exercise lessons, ice-breakers, and all kinds of great stuff!
Then another ongoing event I just found out about. It sounds really fun! The Inner Sunset Anywhere Cinema. They show free movies in the neighborhoods in the Inner Sunset the 2nd Saturday of the month, except for October. The next screening is October 16th, 2011 in the middle of Irving Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. The movie is at 7pm, after the Inner Sunset Street Fair. They won't say what the movie is - it's a surprise.
But you might want to go a little earlier. There is a sit-down-at-a-table potluck before every movie, giving you plenty of chances to talk, meet new people, and try different home-made foods. Usually starts 2 hours before the movie.
And THEN, there's the Scare Grove at Stern Grove! This must be incredible for kids, because it has a haunted house set up in the old Trocadero Inn. Plus, hay rides, arts and crafts, carnival rides and lots of inflatables - you know, those jumping houses! Admission is $8.00 for an All Access Pass.
When: Friday, October 28, 2011 4pm to 9pm
Where: Stern Grove at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard
