My Life as a San Francisco Realtor

West Portal Before and After - Squat & Gobble

It was a dark day in San Francisco in October 2012 when a four alarm fire at the corner of West Portal Avenue and Ulloa Street took out some very popular businesses - Squat & Gobble Restaurant, the wine bar and shop Vin Debut and a large dental practice. By early 2013 the debris had been cleared away and we were left with an empty corner!

West Portal Empty Lot

As a former Architect and now as a Realtor I understand how losses like this can affect a neighborhood shopping area like West Portal. The West Portal Avenue Association and the Greater West Portal Neighborhood Association threw their full support behind the rebuild.

And here we Are! Squat & Gobble is back, and it won't be long before Vin Debut and the dental practice will be back in business.
