My Life as a San Francisco Realtor: Lenox Way, San Francisco, 94127, Then and Now

Lenox Way, San Francisco, 94127, Then and Now

This post was inspired by Stewart Penn in LA. He's done some great posts with Then and Now Photos in his Blog.

I used to spend hours searching through online archives for historical photos of San Francisco. I've collected quite a few over the years, so now I just have to go out and take the 'NOW' photos!

The following is a photo from approximately 70 to 120 Lenox Way in San Francisco's West Portal neighborhood. The first one is from 1926, the second from today.

Joe and Roger, I admit, I am a history buff, especially about the neighborhoods around and where I live.

What a difference an almost century makes.  Althought the houses have kept their integrity.

Jane, West Portal was one of the new suburbs in 1926. All the houses on Lenox Way have similar floorplans, just different expressions on the exterior. The area was mostly empty before the subway tunnel from Castro street opened.

John - at first I thought I was looking at the "before and after" photos of an earthquake. I have a few of those, that could be an interesting post! These are fabulous "before and after" photos!

Be very careful using old pictures that you didn’t take yourself, especially if you find them in online archives, because they often are owned by newspapers, television stations, and historical societies. The ones here in San Diego are known to not waste any time suing those who use their pictures without permission or without paying the usage fee.

John, Wow – great then and now photos of Lenox Way. A friend of mine showed me photos of Blossom Valley back in the day when it was all orchards … there was a horse and buggy in the photo! We have sure come a long way!
