My Life as a San Francisco Realtor: UNIQUELY, SAN FRANCISCO

UNIQUELY, SAN FRANCISCO

Uniquely, San Francisco

Uniquely San FranciscoNow I have a feeling that phrase, "Uniquely, San Francisco" could mean different things to a lot of people. Here in SF, most people in the know, know it means they just bought a new or used car of a certain make, and don't have the new license plates yet. That's what makes it GREAT MARKETING. Unique. This post could, right now, take off in a couple different directions, and they'd all be relevant to Real Estate.

But first, I'm going to tell you what happened to us, because it might come in handy some day. THEN, I'll pick one direction to go OFF in.

My partner bought a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) car a number of months ago. And drove off wearing "Uniquely, San Francisco". We were expecting the plates to arrive in the mail in the near future, and besides, we kind of got a kick out of driving a "Uniquely, San Francisco"car around town. Then, a few months had gone by and my partner got stopped by the police for doing something stupid (minor), and they asked about the plates. We hadn't gotten them yet, what could we do!? The DMV isn't known for its speed.

The officer wrote up a warning, requiring us to bring the car in once we had the plates to get the warning released. Then another month goes by. I'm getting a little nervous driving the car.Last Monday I got home after an appointment, and my partner said that 'they' said "Look in the trunk, under the cover with the spare tire." I did, and sure enough, there the Used plates were. So next time you buy a used car, and the dealer doesn't install the plates, look in the trunk, with the spare tire....

"Uniquely, San Francisco."That could mean thousands of things. From an Architectural viewpoint, San Francisco is NOT brownstones, graystones, brick homes, ranch homes. Ranch is a little to the south, in South City and Daly City. San Francisco IS Victorian, Edwardian, Bungalows, the attached homes in the Sunset, Craftsman homes in Ingleside Terrace, and now High Rise Luxury in South Beach, and many more. For a complete description of available styles, check out this web site.

"Uniquely, San Francisco" as a marketing tool, that's a subject for another post.

John, Oh my goodness.  That will make the fix-it ticket easy to cure. Funny how we just forget about the little things like a license plate (LOL).  Uniquely yours.
