My Life as a San Francisco Realtor: Thunder and Lightning, Oh My!

Thunder and Lightning, Oh My!

Thunder and Lightning, Oh My!

San Francisco Rain StormWe're having thunderstorms in San Francisco tonight. It's the kind where you see the lightning, and then wait to hear the thunder rumble through the area. Reminds me of the movie Poltergeist where they were counting the seconds between the thunder and the light. This just doesn't happen that often here. Even the Chows are nervous. Hopefully the electricity stays on. Those transformers up on the poles can be pretty prone to getting hit sometimes.

It rained pretty hard last night too. This morning while walking the Chows up Ulloa Street, I could see debris half way  up the sidewalks and to the crest of the middle of the road. Ulloa Street must have run like a river then.

The little white spots in the photo are raindrops, although it has slowed now - just the sound of distant thunder.

Hi John -- I enjoyed the lightning show this evening. Russian Hill looked awesome, with lightning bolts zig-zagging above it while I was snug in my little abode. Hope your Chows have settled down.

Oh my Lottie said she enjoyed the lightning show! I've never heard anyone that enjoyed it.  I was amazed that one minute the sun was out here in the Central Valley and the next I was looking at large hail falling to the sidewalk and freezing.  And just as quickly I was seeing it melt and the rain came down!! It was amazing to look at the changes ... from inside my office window.

Rain is good....

I enjoy the beauty of nature in its various forms.

Sun shine, rain, snow, cloudy sky, windy sky, night, stars, birds' chirping~~ these are all has given us to enjoy and appreciate.

John

Guess after having lived in the southeast where we had afternoons when the skies turned black, where the lightning streaked and sparked, and the rain pounded hard, you sort of get used to it.

So when it happened here

It's....Nah...that was nuthin'

:)

Personally, I love a thunder and lightning show, as long as you don't lose power.  Hope the chows weren't too upset.

Lottie, Rosemary, Inna, the forces of nature can be very exciting to watch - as long as they don't become dangerous. I enjoyed the evening.

Pacita, I lived in Chicago before I moved here in 1987. I once had friends visiting from SF when we had a huge downpour and thunder. My friends wanted to run around in the rain because they said it never happened like that in SF. Although I've seen it since moving here, I'll admit - it's not a common occurrence.

Roger, power stayed on although some areas lost it. The Chows are happy today - nice and brilliantly sunny.

Hey John~The movie Poltergeist for some reason always freaked me out. My dog is the biggest chicken when it storms out, I have to check the closets to find him.

Have an AWESOME evening!

Michael, my dogs all gather  around me - one under my desk, one by my chair, the other one in back.
