My Life as a San Francisco Realtor: Batkid Saves Gotham City

Batkid Saves Gotham City

I've been following this event all day, watching it unfold. From the beginning when he roared out of the Batcave in Union Square in the Lamborghini Batmobile, to the end of the day when he received the Key to the City from Mayor Ed Lee. Along the way he rescued a damsel in distress, captured the Riddler and saved Giants Mascot from the Penguin.

Thousands of people showed up to cheer him on - really! Yes, San Francisco literally became Gotham City for a day. And everyone really enjoyed it. It even became a national phenomenon, Twitter was going absolutely crazy over it, President Obama and even members of Congress sent videos of encouragement!

Miles Scott, a 5 year old boy with leukemia, had made a request to Make a Wish Foundation to be Batkid for a day. And he sure got his wish! This was a day for him, but I think all of San Francisco thanks him for saving the day.

There are a whole lot of videos of the day, and you can watch them all Batkid Videos HERE!

This is just one more reason why I Love San Francisco so much. Where else in the world could something so magical happen! Twenty years ago a local TV station had the slogan: San Francisco, the Best Place on Earth. I haven't been dissapointed yet. So If You're Going to San Francisco......... look me up! Every neighborhood is quite different - you'll need a guide to find your new home.

The event today was truly amazing. It show what we can do when people work together for a common cause. Miles Scott is an adorable kid. I've not been able to determine the status of his cancer.

Hi Kathleen, thanks for stopping by! The whole thing is fascinating I've been watching the videos - they say his cancer is now in remission.

Kathy, the size of the event and the crowds wouldn't have been possible without the likes of Twitter. It is so great that so many people came out in support.
